The Yorktown Public Library is preparing to welcome local families for a special autumn‑themed edition of its popular Toddler Time program. The event, scheduled for Tuesday, September 22 at 9 a.m., is designed to give young children a warm and engaging start to the fall season through stories, music, and hands‑on creativity.
Library staff say the morning will center on early‑childhood learning and social development, offering toddlers a chance to explore new sounds, textures, and movements in a friendly setting. Children will hear seasonal stories, including the picture book Millie‑Mae in Autumn, which introduces little readers to the colors and feelings of fall. After storytime, participants will move into a craft activity where they can stamp and build their own bright, circular‑ring autumn tree on paper, a project created specifically for small hands and developing motor skills.

Music and movement will round out the morning, giving children an opportunity to sing, dance, shake, and play together. The program is open to all children from infancy through age six, and caregivers are encouraged to join in the activities.
The Friends of the Yorktown Public Library are sponsoring the event as part of their ongoing support for early‑literacy programming. Library staff say they hope the autumn gathering will bring families together, introduce new visitors to the library, and continue building a welcoming space for Yorktown’s youngest learners.
Toddler Time will take place inside the Yorktown Public Library. Families interested in attending may simply arrive at the scheduled time; no registration is required.
