SHINER: Margie J. Flowers, 82, went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 25, 2026. She was born in Shiner, TX, on February 14, 1944, to A.C. and Alberta (Curtis) Johnson. She was raised by Myrtle Curtis Jefferson, whom she called “Momma”. She attended Shiner Elementary School and Hallettsville High School. She was converted at an early age and joined Little Bethel A.M.E. Church. She worked at Holy Hall Infirmary for 30 years. Margie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survived by daughter, Terry Smith, of Rosenberg, TX; brothers, Melvin Earl Flowers, Jr. (Kim) and John Wesley Flowers, both of Rosenberg, TX.; grandchildren, Serena Flowers, Nicole Smith, Marcus Jerome Smith of Rosenberg, TX, Paris Flowers, Italy Flowers, Egypt Flowers, China Simone Green and Frantreci Mischer of Houston, TX; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin Earl Flowers, Sr.; sisters, Rosalie Smith and Ozella Hights.
Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 9, 2026, at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home with Rev. David Greathouse officiating. Burial to follow at Bluebonnet Cemetery, Shiner, TX.
