Cuero is gearing up for one of its most anticipated summer traditions as the Cuero Open Pro Rodeo returns August 7–8, 2026, bringing two nights of high‑energy competition, crowd‑pleasing entertainment, and community celebration. Produced by the Lester Meier Rodeo Company, the event is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. nightly and is expected to draw spectators from across South Texas.
This year’s lineup features a full slate of classic rodeo events, including Bareback Bronc Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Tie‑Down Calf Roping, Team Roping, Girl’s Breakaway Roping, and Ladies Barrel Racing, which will offer jackpot opportunities each night. Fans of high‑intensity action will see top riders compete in Bull Riding, while younger participants take center stage in the Calf Scramble and Mutton Busting competitions.
In addition to the competitive events, the rodeo will showcase drill teams and a specialty act designed to keep the crowd engaged between performances. A colorful rodeo clown—featured prominently in event promotions—will provide comic relief and crowd interaction throughout the evening.
