Cuero Online News — July 25, 2026
The Cuero Select Track Club (CSTC) is heading into the 2026 TAAF Summer Games of Texas Track & Field State Championships with one of its strongest, deepest, and most determined rosters in program history. After a dominant regional performance across every age division, CSTC arrives in Bryan/College Station with momentum, confidence, and a reputation for showing up when the stakes are highest.
This year’s squad isn’t just talented—they’re battle-tested. From explosive sprinters to powerhouse throwers, from fearless hurdlers to relay teams that have become the heartbeat of the club, CSTC is poised to make a statewide statement.
18U: Veteran Leadership & Big Medal Potential
The 18U division is stacked with athletes who have been here before—and plan to leave with gold.
- Bradley Hill enters state as one of the most decorated athletes in Texas, qualifying in the 4×1, long jump, triple jump, and 110 hurdles. His versatility and consistency make him a major threat in every event he touches.
- The 18U boys 4×100 relay—Dairion White, London Bashaw, Dominic Perez, and Hill—has already proven they’re the team to beat after a commanding 1st-place regional finish.
- On the girls’ side, the 18U 4×1 squad of Brittany Hill, Brooklyn Bland, Gracei Martinez, and Aubree Vinson is coming off a blazing 2nd-place finish and looks sharper every week. Their chemistry has become one of CSTC’s strongest weapons.
With multiple athletes ranked among the top in the state, the 18U group is expected to anchor CSTC’s medal count.
14U: Relays, Distance, and Jumps Steal the Spotlight
The 14U division has been one of CSTC’s most electric groups this season.
- The 14U girls 4×1 relay stormed into regionals and left with a 1st-place finish, setting the tone for their state run.
- Elias Gomez continues to shine as one of the most well-rounded athletes in Texas, qualifying in the 800, long jump, triple jump, and hurdles.
- Paige Tate and Riley Galindo bring strength to the distance events, both advancing in the 800 and 1600.
- The depth of this age group—across sprints, jumps, and relays—gives CSTC multiple chances to land on the podium.
12U & 10U: Young, Hungry, and Ready for the Big Stage
The future of CSTC is bright, and the 12U and 10U athletes proved it by advancing in nearly every event category.
- Deon’zay Green and Elijah Swinton headline the 12U boys with explosive long jump and relay performances.
- Kayla Tate and Charlene Belvin bring strength to the girls’ distance and relay squads.
- In 10U, Maliyah Farris enters state as a shot-put favorite after a commanding regional win.
- The 10U boys relay team—Zayne Horton, Kyreese Grant, Kendrix Denson, and Taiven Darks—advanced with grit and determination.
These athletes may be young, but they’ve shown they’re not intimidated by the big stage.
8U & 6U: Small but Mighty
CSTC’s youngest competitors proved that heart matters more than size.
- Both 8U boys and girls relays advanced to state, showcasing impressive teamwork and speed.
- Ju’laiza Austin, Danielle Ojeda, and Kayden McGraw highlight a group that continues to exceed expectations.
Their energy has become a spark for the entire club.
A Family on the Track
One thing has become clear throughout the season: CSTC is more than a team—it’s a family. From cheering each other on during long jump attempts to celebrating relay victories together, the athletes have built a culture rooted in support, pride, and unity.
Parents, coaches, and teammates have created an environment where every athlete—whether a seasoned 18U sprinter or a first-year 6U runner—feels valued and motivated.
College Station Awaits
With the state championships just days away, CSTC is locked in. The athletes are sharpening their starts, tightening their relay exchanges, and dialing in their jumps and throws. The coaches are preparing strategies, reviewing heat sheets, and ensuring every athlete is ready for the moment.
The 2026 TAAF Summer Games of Texas will bring together the best youth athletes in the state—but CSTC is arriving with something special: depth, heart, and a belief that they belong at the top.
