Lornett Faye Lassmann entered into eternal peace when she was called Home on the morning of September 6, 2026.
Lornett was born November 3, 1939, to John and Delta Leick. She lived her entire life within the Lindenau and Cuero communities. Lornett married Charles A. Lassmann on May 11, 1990. Together they built a life around their home in Cuero and ranch in Yorktown, Texas.
Lornett loved gardening and showed off her green thumb in her yards in Cuero and Yorktown. People would stop to see what flowers were blooming or how big the ferns were hanging from the front yard trees. She was also active with the quilting group for many years at St. Mark’s Lutheran church, where she was a member.
Meme’s (as known by her family and friends) greatest accomplishment in life were her eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, with another on the way in December.
Lornett is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles and daughter Cindy Egg. She is survived by her daughter, Terri (Kelly) Walter of Kaufman and son, Todd (Judy) Hausman of Bryan, Texas. Grandchildren of Meme are Thomas Walther, Elizabeth Green, Samuel Walther, Jordan Egg, Kayla Davis, Garrett Egg, Eric Hausman, and Adam Hausman.
Visitation will be at 9:00 am, Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Freund Funeral Home with funeral services following at 10:00 am with Pastor Paul Muehlbrad officiating. Lornett will be buried at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero.
