Lavaca County Sheriff Steven Greenwell will be the featured speaker at the next meeting of the Republican Women of Yoakum Area (RWOYA), set for Tuesday, May 13, 2026. The event will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Yoakum Community Center, located at 105 Huck Street in Yoakum.
Sheriff Greenwell plans to give attendees an inside look at recent changes and improvements within the Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office. His remarks are expected to cover staffing developments as well as the department’s involvement with Lone Star task force operations in the region.
Lunch will be provided at the gathering, with a freewill donation accepted. The meeting is open to the public and offers area residents a chance to hear directly from local law enforcement leadership about the current state of public safety efforts across Lavaca County.
