The Cuero Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for one of its most anticipated annual traditions, as preparations are underway for the 18th Annual World Series of Cuero Texas Hold ’Em Poker Tournament, set for Saturday, August 1, 2026, at The Venue on Church Street. The long‑running event has become a summer staple for local players, businesses, and spectators who gather for a full day of competition, camaraderie, and casino‑style entertainment.
This year’s tournament features a $5,000 grand prize, drawing both seasoned players and newcomers eager to test their luck and skill at the tables. The Chamber is offering several ticket tiers to accommodate participants and spectators alike. Online presale tickets for the Main Event are available for $100, which includes $12,000 in chips, while an early‑bird purchase before July 18 provides an additional $2,000 in chips. A single Chip‑Up option may be added for $50, granting players an extra $5,000 in chips. Main Event tickets purchased at the door will be $150 and include $10,000 in chips.
Spectators are also invited to join the festivities. A $25 spectator ticket includes lunch, spirits, and $1,000 in casino chips for blackjack and craps, ensuring that even non‑players can enjoy the casino atmosphere throughout the day.
Local businesses and organizations have several opportunities to support the event through sponsorship packages. The Royal Flush level, at $2,500, offers title sponsor recognition, final table sponsorship, six Main Event seats with meals, a Last Business Standing entry, two Chip‑Ups, and casino gaming benefits. Additional tiers—Straight Flush ($1,500), Four of a Kind ($1,000), Full House ($500), and Flush ($300)—provide a range of options for businesses seeking visibility while supporting community programming.
The World Series of Cuero has grown into more than a poker tournament; it is a community gathering that blends competition with social engagement. With food, spirits, casino games, and a lively crowd, the event continues to reflect the Chamber’s commitment to offering creative, enjoyable experiences for residents and visitors.
As August approaches, anticipation is building for another successful year of cards, strategy, and friendly rivalry in downtown Cuero.
