Senior Spotlight: Andrew Hahn Recognized by Healthy Texas Youth Ambassador Program

By Pat Treviño | May 2, 2026

The Healthy Texas Youth Ambassador Program, a statewide leadership initiative supported by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and closely connected to the 4‑H youth development network, recently featured Andrew Hahn, a graduating senior from DeWitt County whose academic and personal growth reflect a strong commitment to learning, service, and leadership.

Hahn plans to pursue a degree in Horticultural Science at Texas A&M University, building on years of hands‑on experiences that have shaped both his education and his worldview. Through the Ambassador Program — which equips students to promote health, wellness, and community engagement — Hahn participated in opportunities that extended far beyond the classroom.

From summer road trips across the United States to international travel in Ecuador, Hahn gained exposure to diverse cultures and communities. These experiences broadened his global perspective while strengthening his communication skills and his ability to build meaningful connections with others.

Hahn describes health as a balance of physical strength and mental well‑being, emphasizing the importance of feeling grounded both in body and mind. Among his many experiences, his time in Ecuador remains especially significant — not only for the places he visited, but for the people who made the journey unforgettable.

Reflecting on his time as an ambassador, Hahn shared: “I have gained valuable real-life knowledge and meaningful experiences through my role as a Healthy Texas Youth Ambassador.”

As he prepares to graduate and begin his studies at Texas A&M, Hahn carries with him the lessons, relationships, and confidence built through the program. His story highlights the impact of youth leadership initiatives supported by AgriLife Extension and the 4‑H community.
