The Cuero Gobbler Band turned a long, carefully planned weekend into a major milestone, advancing to the finals at a marching competition hosted by Blinn College. After weeks of rehearsal and a deliberate decision to stay off the road Friday night, the band’s hard work paid off on the field.
On Friday, the Gobbler football team was on the road for their out‑of‑town matchup, and the band did not travel with them. Instead, student‑musicians remained in Cuero to get in one last focused rehearsal, rest, and pack for an early departure and a full day of competition. Directors prioritized the students’ stamina and performance quality, knowing Saturday’s schedule would demand both.
