Quinton Metting, 77, of Yorktown passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025. He was born June 2, 1947 in Yorktown to Wilton and Willis Spies Metting. He graduated from Yorktown High School and was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church in Yorktown.
After graduation he was drafted into the army and served in Vietnam where he earned a purple heart and other medals of honor. He spent many years working in Houston as a welder but then returned to Yorktown where he worked as a contractor and home builder until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ranching, bar-b-queing and watching football.
He is survived by his daughters Chantae (Kurt) Adams, Chandrea (Derek) Frantz, grandchildren Kody Baldwin, Connor Adams, Cole Adams, and Cade Frantz and great grandchildren, Kolt Baldwin and Sevryn Baldwin. He is also survived by his brothers Gregg (Darlene) Metting, Todd (Laurie) Metting and nephews, Dave (Tina) Metting, Clint (Lynette) Metting, Dustin (Laci) Metting and Brian Metting.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Marlys Metting.
Visitation 6-8 pm Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral service 11 am Friday, February 28, 2025 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Interment to follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Dave Metting, Clint Metting, Dustin Metting, Brian Metting, Barry Watson, Steve Warwas, Erik Ibrom, John Rogers. Honorary pallbearers are Russell Jerrell, Charles Garner and his grandchildren.
The family would like to thank his wonderful caregivers, Christine Johnson, Gloria Villarreal, Samantha Naranjo and Victoria Garza for their loving care. They were his angels.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Yorktown EMS, Pet Adoptions of Cuero, or donor’s choice.
