Felipa Guajardo, 89, of Cuero passed away Saturday, October 31, 2026. She was born on November 22, 1936, in Cuero to the late Tiburcio and Evarista Ortiz Garcia. Felipa’s greatest joy in life was caring for her family. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly, and nothing brought her more happiness than being surrounded by those she loved.
Felipa is survived by her daughters, Margie Reyes of San Antonio, RosaLinda Gonzales of Cuero, Mary Land (Kenny) of Austin, and Melissa Guajardo (James Jones) of Cuero; sons, Joe Garcia of Cuero, Geronimo “Billy” Guajardo Jr. (Maria) of Pasadena, Louis Guajardo (Janie) of Cuero, and Richard Guajardo (Maxine) of San Antonio; brother, Antonio “Tony” Garcia of Lake Charles, LA; 29 grandchildren, 81 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Geronimo Guajardo; parents, Tiburcio and Evarista Garcia; brother, Pedro Garcia; and grandson, Christopher Cody Garcia.
Visitation will begin at 9 am on Friday, November 6, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 10 am with mass to begin at 10:30 am. Father Michael Odartey-Lamptey will officiate. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Stephen Guajardo, Geronimo “John” Guajardo, Isaiah Mungia, Giovani Gonzalez, Michael Reyes, Jeremy Guajardo, and Jerry Gonzales.
