The DeWitt Medical Foundation has welcomed a new face to its leadership team: Suggie Mayfield, a lifelong Cuero resident whose background in health, education, business, and community service makes her a strong addition to the board.
Mayfield, born and raised in Cuero, has long been connected to the people and institutions that shape the community. After graduating from Cuero High School, she earned her degree in Health from Texas A&M University, launching a decade‑long career as an athletic trainer in high schools across the region. She later stepped away from the profession to focus on raising her family, a decision she describes as one of the most meaningful chapters of her life.
Suggie and her husband, Arlin Mayfield, have been married for 18 years and are raising two children deeply involved in local schools and athletics: Turner, a junior at Cuero High School, and Taylor, an eighth grader at Cuero Junior High. Much of Suggie’s time outside of work is spent supporting her children’s many sporting events, a role she embraces with enthusiasm.

Today, Mayfield owns and operates TQMS Quality Assurance, an oilfield quality assurance company founded by her father more than 30 years ago. Under her leadership, the company continues to uphold the standards and reputation built over decades of service in the industry.
Her commitment to Cuero extends far beyond business. Mayfield says she is passionate about strengthening healthcare access and resources in DeWitt County — a mission that aligns closely with the Foundation’s work. She views her appointment to the board as an opportunity to give back to the community that shaped her.
Foundation leaders say they are grateful for her willingness to serve and confident that her experience, energy, and community‑centered perspective will benefit ongoing efforts to support local healthcare initiatives.
Residents are encouraged to join the Foundation in welcoming Suggie Mayfield as she begins her service on the board — a role that promises to bring fresh insight and continued dedication to the community she loves.
