SHINER: Georgia Mae Flowers, age 85, passed away September 2, 2026. She was born February 4, 1941, in Gonzales to Millard and Aurillas Johnson Mathis. She was a homemaker, a nurse’s aide, and worked at Tandy Brands. She enjoyed spending time with family, her church, dancing, fishing, and doing yard work.
Survivors: daughters, Christie Flowers (Johnny) and Albernetta Flowers (Syneca); sons, Jeremy Flowers (Mary), Kenneth Mathis (Irene) and Reginald Flowers; 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Mayme Murphy; brothers, Millard (M.D.) Mathis and Retavious Mathis Sr., along with nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Ervin Flowers; son, Ervin Flowers Jr; sister, Lucille Murphy; brothers, Van Lee Mathis and Hozel Mathis.
Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Shiner Methodist Church with Pastor Zettie Woodson officiating. Burial Bluebonnet Cemetery.
