YOAKUM: Snowrier Ann Clay was born on January 16, 1956, to the late Mathew Clint Clay and Julia Moore. She passed away on August 19, 2026. She grew up in Yoakum, TX, and continued to live and work there. She graduated from Yoakum High School. While working at Stevens Nursing Home, she went to dietetic supervision school with her daughter. She worked as a dietary cook for about 40 years. She greatly cared about what was presented and given to the residents. She loved to help people regardless of who they were. She would share what little she had. She was a lover of animals; especially her cats, “Callie” and “Bobbie”. “Bobbie” preceded her in death, and was a cat to her, like no other.
Snowrier was a member of Freshstart Fellowship Church in Yoakum, TX, under the leadership of Pastor Terry Brown. She continued to attend as her health permitted. Due to health reasons, she eventually moved to Austin to be with her daughter and family. As time and her health permitted, she would attend The New Covenant Church in Cedar Creek, Bastrop County, with her son-in-law and daughter. Her love for the Lord was evident, even through her pain and suffering.
She is survived by daughter, Carmen Williams and husband David Williams; son, Sidney Clay; 6 grandchildren, Krystle Johnson, Markelle Johnson, Bradley Williams, David Williams JR, Davin Williams, JaCameron Williams; 7 great grand kids; Fresh Start Church family, and others at The New Covenant Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother; father; one son, Cameron; two brothers, Clyde and Norman G. Massey; sister, Rosie Lee Clay; Aunt, Snowrier Knowley (very special aunt); and a host of many other relatives and friends.
A Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2026, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Willing Workers Cemetery, Hallettsville, TX.
