On March 7, 2025, Amazon announced its plans to expand its presence in Texas by opening a new delivery station located off U.S. Highway 59 North in Victoria. Construction for this facility has recently commenced, with launch plans still in the early stages.
“This delivery station will allow us to better serve customers in Victoria and the surrounding area,” said Jessica Breaux, Senior Manager of Economic Development for Amazon. “We’re grateful for our partnership with the City of Victoria and the VEDC Regional Partnership. We look forward to sharing more details about this facility—including information about hiring and a launch date—in the future.”
The new delivery station will enhance Amazon’s fulfillment process by powering the last mile of delivery, ensuring fast and reliable service directly to customers’ doorsteps. Packages will be transported to the delivery station from Amazon’s fulfillment and sortation centers, where employees will process them for final delivery.
“Our Board of Directors and staff work tirelessly to continue to attract new jobs to the region,” said Vee Strauss, Chair of the VEDC Regional Partnership Board of Directors. “VEDC Regional Partnership is proud to have played a role in helping to make this project become a reality. VEDC began working with Amazon representatives about a year ago and helped make the site ready for construction.”
Since 2010, Amazon has created more than 86,000 full- and part-time jobs in Texas and invested over $70 billion across the state, including infrastructure and employee compensation. These investments have contributed an additional $81 billion to the Texas economy and have helped create more than 171,000 indirect jobs, ranging from construction and logistics to professional services. Additionally, more than 39,000 independent sellers—most of which are small and medium-sized businesses—in Texas are selling to customers on Amazon’s platform.
In addition, Amazon’s stores have created thousands of additional jobs across the state, providing employment opportunities and contributing to local economies. The new delivery station in Victoria is expected to bring significant economic benefits to the region, further solidifying Amazon’s commitment to investing in Texas. As construction progresses, more details about the facility, including hiring opportunities and a launch date, will be shared with the community.
