St. Michael’s Catholic School will open its doors on Sunday, October 25, 2026, for a special community celebration honoring 150 years of faith‑based education in Cuero. The “Legacy of Faith Museum,” a one‑day exhibit curated for the anniversary, invites alumni, families, parishioners, and friends to walk through a century and a half of memories, music, and milestones that shaped the beloved institution.
Founded in 1876, St. Michael’s has served generations of students, guided by the mission of sharing the light of Christ through academic formation, spiritual development, and community service. The anniversary exhibit highlights the school’s evolution—from its early days led by dedicated religious sisters, through mid‑century growth, and into the modern era of expanded programs and facilities.

The museum will feature historical photographs, class memorabilia, uniforms, documents, and personal stories contributed by alumni. A visual timeline will trace the school’s journey across five eras, illustrating how each generation carried forward the values of faith, discipline, and service. Music from various decades will accompany the displays, creating an immersive experience for visitors.
The celebration will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 309 E. Church Street in the Parish Hall Annex, coinciding with the St. Michael’s School Fall Festival. Guests are encouraged to explore both events, reconnect with classmates, and enjoy the fellowship that has long been a hallmark of the St. Michael’s community.
Organizers say the museum is not only a tribute to the past but also a reminder of the school’s continued commitment to forming young people in faith and character. As St. Michael’s enters its 150th year, the celebration stands as a testament to the generations who built, sustained, and enriched the school’s legacy.
