Guadalupe “Lupe” Martinez of Smiley, TX was born on May 9, 1937 in School Land, Texas to Jesus Martinez and Christina Dominguez Martinez passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at the age of 89 years, 4 months, and 14 days.
Lupe is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Pedro, her five siblings, her son Pete, her grandson Mark Martinez Jr. and great grandson, Cameron Ybarra.
She is survived by her children: Erlinda Amaya and husband Rene of Nixon, Michael Martinez and wife Florence of China Grove, TX, Henry Martinez and wife Ruby of Smiley, TX, Damon Martinez of San Antonio, TX, Mark Martinez and wife Jessica of San Juan, TX and Christina Martinez of Nixon, TX; 21 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one Great Great Grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Interment was held at the Smiley Latin American Cemetery, where she was laid to rest alongside her husband, Pedro.
Pallbearers: Henry Martinez, Jr. Michael Angelo Martinez, Alfonso Jacob Martinez, Jayden Martinez, Joshua Amaya, Andrew Amaya.
Honorary Pallbearers were: Lysette Martinez, Noah James Martinez, Christopher John Martinez and Mark Anthony Martinez.
