CUERO — Joe Ruben Carisalez, 61, of Cuero passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2026. He was born September 29, 1964, in Cuero to Zeferina Gonzales and Thomas Carisalez Sr.
Joe was a very outspoken and caring man who loved to hunt and fish. He worked for many years as a master mechanic, a trade he took pride in and excelled at.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Jane Carrisalez; his brothers, Thomas Carisalez Jr., Johnny Carisalez, and Daniel Carisalez; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Gloria Carrisalez Hernandez and Josephine Carrisalez; and his brothers, Victor Carisalez, Henry Carisalez, Reynaldo Carisalez, and David Anthony Carisalez.
Pallbearers include Johnny Carisalez, Thomas Carisalez Jr., Daniel Carisalez, Albert Carisalez, Caiden Rosales, and Henry Henkes.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Gonzales officiating. Interment will follow at San Miguel Cemetery in Thomaston.
