YOAKUM: Ethel “Mae” Wagner, age 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday night, August 9, 2026. She was born July 26, 1939 in Marlin, Texas to Albert and Augusta (Grube) Kuretsch.
She was a member of the Schulenburg High School class of 57’ and attended UT at Austin, Texas. She was employed as a bookkeeper most of her life.
She is survived by the “joys of her life”; daughter, Natalie Wagner Jaschke of Victoria; sons, Ronnie Wagner of Victoria, Leslie Wagner (Melissa) of Orlando, Fl. and Frank Wagner (Laura) of Deland, Fl.; seven grandchildren, Jason Krog (Sheila), Jeff McGaha (Lilli), Leslie Wagner II, Tamara Wagner Tapia (Al), Madison Wagner, Lily Wagner and Justin Reagan (Destinie); seven great-grandchildren, MacKinley Krog, Sean Taylor, Hunter Krog, Savannah McGaha, Isabel Garcia, Randy Reagan and Bradyn Reagan.
Preceded in death by her parents; sisters Alberta Kuretsch, Ruby Light and Evelyn May and brother Ruben Kuretsch, Sr.; granddaughter, Madelyn Mae Wagner and son-in-law, Ralph Jaschke.
Celebration of Life was held on August 22, 2026 at 2PM at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home.
