CAROLINE BRICKNER MOSER – AUGUST 1, 1924 – JUNE 25, 2026 (101)

MOULTON: Caroline Brickner Moser, age 101, of Moulton, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026. Born on August 1, 1924, in Peoria, Illinois, to Henry and Ruth Brickner, Carol lived a long and remarkable life defined by strength, service, compassion, and unwavering independence.

After graduating from nursing school in 1945, Carol devoted the rest of her career to caring for others. She continued serving her community well into her nineties, including weekends as the Head Registered Nurse at Shiner Nursing Home. Through her compassion, skill, and dedication, she touched countless lives and earned the respect of patients, families, and colleagues alike. Carol and her husband, Edmund, shared a love of adventure, friendship, and travel. An accomplished pilot, Edmund often flew the couple on day trips to neighboring cities where they met friends for lunch or dinner before returning home, creating memories they treasured together. Fiercely independent throughout her life, Carol lived alone until the age of 100 and maintained a valid driver’s license, continuing to chart her own course well into her second century of life. She had a special love for animals, especially her dogs, who were treasured companions over the years. Her compassion extended to the many stray cats she faithfully cared for, maintaining a colony of cats until she entered the nursing home. Having lived through more than a century of change, Carol remained grounded in the values that guided her throughout her life: hard work, resilience, kindness, and service to others. Her legacy lives on through the generations of family she loved and the many lives she touched.

Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edmund Moser, Jr., who passed away in 1961; her parents, Henry and Ruth Brickner; and her three older sisters, Suzie, Mary, and Mikee. Together, the sisters were lovingly known within the family as “The Four Little Women,” a bond that remained a cherished part of Carol’s life. Those who knew and loved Carol can take comfort in imagining a joyful reunion with Edmund, Suzie, Mary, and Mikee, the Four Little Women together once again.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Sally Hahn and her partner, Leo; her granddaughters, Kate Krause and husband Levi, and Kelly Hahn; and her great-grandchildren, Taylor Hahn, Trent Buerger, Kylee Krause, Kaleb Krause, Gabriella Perez, Antonio Gonzales, Ramiro Gonzales, and Jeremiah Cruz. Carol will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who knew her.

In accordance with Carol’s wishes, no public services will be held.
