LAVERNE JEANETTE DULAK TAYLOR – NOVEMBER 8, 1933 – JUNE 22, 2026 (92)

HALLETTSVILLE: LaVerne Jeanette Dulak Taylor, age 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep June 22, 2026.  She was born November 8, 1933 in Granger, Texas to Bennie and Leona (Steffek) Dulak.

LaVerne married the love of her life, Alan “Roy” Taylor, when she was 16 years old and together raised two beautiful children, Gary and Charlotte. They were the light of their loves.

LaVerne was incredibly proud of the modeling work she did in her younger years but found her true calling as a wife, mother and grandmother. She was passionate about her family and Catholic faith. She spent devoted time each morning praying and saying the Rosary for all those who had passed before her. She was happiest when she was surrounded by family. Her hobbies included fashion, interior decorating and travel.

LaVerne is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Leona and Bill Stanley; father, Bennie Dulak; husband, Alan “Roy” Taylor; son, Gary Alan Taylor and daughter, Charlotte Taylor Martinez.

She is survived by grandsons Clint and Chelsey Taylor, and their three daughters, Addison, Caroline and Brooke Taylor, Trey Taylor, and Brent Byers; first cousins, Elaine Steffek Jones and Alvin & Lori Steffek; daughter-in-law, Debra Taylor; son-in-law, Emil “Chico” Martinez, and special caregiver, Nuria Medina.

Funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Sweet Home with Rev. Dominic Antwi-Boasiako officiated.  She was buried at Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter in LaGrange or Lucie’s Project in Sheridan.
