Thomas Franklin Kahlich, 93, of Cuero passed away Monday, June 1, 2026. He was born August 2, 1932 in Lindenau to the late Edwin Jacob and Erna Henrietta Olle Kahlich. After graduating Cuero High School, he served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Cuero VFW, American Legion, Grand Lodge of the Sons of Hermann and Cuero Lion’s Club. He worked for Texas Eastern Transmission as a Station Operator for 42 years and also had a business that sold and serviced televisions. He was active in raising cattle and enjoyed golfing and going to football games. Thomas married, Mary Louise Klaevemann on May 16, 1997 in Cuero at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. He was a devoted member to the church and served on the Church Council for many years.
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Mary Kahlich; daughter, Karla Klaevemann (Charles), son, Thomas Karlton Kahlich (Michele), brothers, Donald Kahlich and Alan Kahlich; and grandchildren, Kelly Klaevemann, Brooke Patrisso (Paul), Kelsey Winn (Sean), Brock Kahlich, and Katy Kahlich; and great-grandchildren, Layla Winn, Jaxson Winn and Breanna Beth Patrisso. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Helen Peters and Doris Deininger.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 5 to 7 pm at Freund Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 5, 2026, 2 pm, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Muehlbrad officiating. Interment will follow at Lindenau Cemetery.
