Pat Trevino | March 17, 2026

YORKTOWN — Yorktown ISD is celebrating a standout performance after Manuel Macias earned 3rd place and brought home the bronze medal at the Regional Powerlifting Meet this week. Competing against some of the strongest lifters in the region, Macias delivered an impressive showing that secured him a spot among the top athletes in his weight class.

Coaches praised his discipline, consistency, and competitive drive — qualities that have defined his season and helped push him to the podium at one of the toughest meets of the year.

Macias’ accomplishment adds to a strong tradition of powerlifting success at Yorktown ISD, and he was not the only Wildcat to shine at the regional level. Four additional Yorktown athletes also earned medals, contributing to an impressive overall showing for the program. Their exact placements and categories will be shared once official results are released.

Yorktown ISD extends its congratulations to all of its regional qualifiers and medalists for representing the district with strength, determination, and pride.
