MILDRED ANN PATEK – JULY 2, 1932 TO JUNE 15, 2026 (93)

Mildred Ann Patek, 93, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026. Mildred was born on July 2, 1932, in Moulton, TX, to Tom F. Bohuslav and Mary Migl Bohuslav. Mildred raised 5 children during the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. For a short time, she explored employment outside the home. In her early years, she played volleyball and was on a bowling league. Everyone looked forward to holidays at Granny and Papaw’s. She made delicious kolaches, dewberry pie, chicken noodle soup, and the best turkey and dressing. She cooked and canned vegetables that Laddie grew in the garden and made jams that we all enjoyed. There was even a time period when they made their own wine. She and Laddie also loved to go dancing with their friends. She was gifted in sewing quilt tops and made sure we all had quilts to remember her by. We love you, Granny, Mom!

Mildred is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Laddie “LJ” Patek, brothers Robert, Ernest, and Herman Bohuslav, sisters Helen Farmer and Elsie Darilek, and son-in-law Larry Rasco. She is survived by her 5 children and their spouses, Sharon (Don) Andres of Wimberley, Cyndy (Larry) Hensley of New Braunfels, Lynette Rasco of New Braunfels, Donna (Mark) Jensen of Lakehills and Gary (Gay) Patek of Victoria; eleven grandchildren, Ross Andres, Robin Sanchez, Jana Proff, Jill Chavez, Eric Knippa, Matthew Rasco, Kristin Jensen, Laura Jensen, Amy Kaddatz, Jacob Patek, and Rachel Blinka; 30 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church until she moved to New Braunfels in 2023 to enter an assisted living facility to be closer to her girls. Sincere thanks to Good Shepherd Hospice for care and support.

Pallbearers were her grandsons Eric Knippa, Ross Andres, Jacob Patek, Matthew Rasco, & great grandsons Drew Sanchez, Devin Franklin, Bentley Blinka, and Garner Proff.

She is buried at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
