SHINER: Richard C. Gilliam, 82, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025. He was born February 28, 1943 in Rosenberg, TX to Otis Henry Gilliam and Audrey Mae (Lott).
He was a veteran having served in the Army Reserves. Richard worked most of his life in the oilfields of Texas. He was a historian and his hobby was restoring guns. He leaves behind his loving wife of sixty years, Shirley Gilliam.
Survivors: wife, Shirley Gilliam of Shiner; sons, Russel Gilliam of Shiner and Travis Gilliam (Donna) of Alvin, TX; sister, Dr. Maurice Wilkinson of Shiner; granddaughters, Elizabeth Gilliam, Lauren Gilliam, and Amanda Gilliam; two great grandchildren Codi and Kasen Gilliam.
Preceded in death by his parents..
Visitation 2 to 6 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home.
Graveside Funeral Service 2 p.m., Friday, April 11, 2025 at Moulton City Cemetery with Chaplain Joseph Jones from Crown Hospice officiating..
Pallbearers: Russel Gilliam, Chuck Norris, Millard Land, John Hughes, Russell Applegate and Alan Kahanek.
