YOAKUM: Eugene Hall, 78, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025. He was born October 26, 1946 in Hope to the late Willie and Myrtle (Williams) Hall.
Eugene is a 1964 graduate of Yoakum High School. He is a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force. He married his beloved Mattie Franklin and they moved to Houston for a brief time before returning to Yoakum to spend their remaining years. Eugene owned and operated his mechanic shop, Hall’s Forklift. He enjoyed gardening, barbecuing, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He loved talking with his family and adored being with his grandchildren.
Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Mattie Hall of Yoakum; son, Ronald Eugene Hall and wife April of Yoakum; two grandchildren, Tanesha Hall and Kinleigh Hall; two sisters, Doris Hall and Marilyn Hall; five brothers, Willie Jr, Walter, Charles, James and Paul Allan Hall; numerous extended family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Myrtle Hall.
Pastor Johnny Davenport officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at 2:15 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Houston Veteran Cemetery.
