City Announces Skatepark Closure as Preparations Continue

By Pat Trevino | March 12, 2026

CUERO, Texas — City officials have announced that the local skatepark is closed to the public as crews continue preparing the facility for its official debut. The closure comes as excitement builds among local skaters and families eager to see the new park open.

A notice posted at the site reminds residents that the skatepark is not yet available for use. Officials emphasized that the closure is necessary to complete final safety checks, finishing touches, and any remaining construction work before the community can enjoy the space.

“We know everyone is excited about the skatepark, and we’re just as eager to open it,” city representatives said. “Our team is working hard to make sure everything is safe, polished, and ready for the public.”

Details about the grand opening — including date, time, and planned activities — will be released once preparations are complete. Until then, residents are asked to respect the closure for their safety and the integrity of the project.

The skatepark is expected to become a major recreational addition for local youth and families once officially opened.
