FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CUERO, Texas — June 25, 2024 — The DeWitt County Commissioners Court has announced the rescission of Court Order No. 2024-025, effectively lifting the ban on outdoor burning in the unincorporated areas of DeWitt County.
The original order, enacted on June 14, 2024, was a response to conditions that warranted the imposition of a burn ban. However, these conditions have significantly dissipated or no longer exist in the county.
The Commissioner’s Court has conveyed express powers upon the county judge, allowing for unilateral action on his part with respect to the lifting of the existing burn ban.
As of today, the following decrees are in effect:
- The current ban on outdoor burning no longer exists.
- Commissioner’s Court Order No. 2024-025 is hereby rescinded immediately upon execution of the Order.
This decision was made on this 25th day of June 2024.
