MUSIC LEGEND BOBBY PULIDO CONSIDERING POLITICAL OFFICE

0

According to Politico, Tejano music legend Bobby Pulido is being considered by the Democratic Party to challenge Republican Rep. Monica De La Cruz for Texas’ 15th Congressional District. Pulido, well-known for his career in Tejano music and son of legendary Tejano singer Roberto Pulido, is reportedly thinking about entering the political arena after announcing his farewell tour.

The Democrats believe Pulido’s popularity and widespread appeal could help regain control of the district. Rep. De La Cruz won the seat in 2022 and has since seen a growing Republican presence in the area. Former Rep. Filemon Vela supports Pulido, emphasizing his political insight and balanced approach on key issues.

If he runs, Pulido plans to focus on moderate positions on immigration and energy policies. His potential candidacy comes at a time when the Democratic Party is seeking to strengthen its hold in the Rio Grande Valley, where Republican influence has increased.

Pulido’s public profile is strong, with notable appearances like his halftime performance at a Houston Texans NFL playoff game. The recruitment effort by the Democratic Party reflects a hope that Pulido’s fame and dedication to public service can counter the Republican trend in the region and inspire voters in Texas’ 15th District.

The election promises to be competitive, with many anticipating whether Pulido will officially enter the race and challenge De La Cruz in this key district.
